Nurture is the Women’s Ministry at the Geraldton Anglican Cathedral. Our aim is to encourage one another through prayer, friendship and connection. We seek to do this through regular opportunities to connect, pray and learn together. Our hope is also to be able to meet the physical needs of those in our church family.

During the term we run fortnightly prayer meetings, as well as monthly meet ups and the occasional social event.

Women of all ages and stages are welcome!

If you have questions, or are interested in coming along to any of our events, please get in touch. Contact Us

Podcast club – we meet twice a term in the Cathedral Hall to listen to one episode from a selection of various Christian podcasts and then enjoy a time of discussion on the topic/s raised. No need to be tech-savvy, we’ll listen to the episode together.

Nurture Mission Statement

Our mission can be summarised into three main categories: Care, Encourage and Grow

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Care – We look for ways to meet each other’s needs through a listening ear, praying together, cooking meals and various other methods to show love and hospitality.

  • So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:1-4

Encourage – We build each other up to stand firm in our faith in Jesus by regularly fellowshipping together. We believe being part of a strong community helps women to feel that they belong and to continue to walk in their convictions as children of God.

  • Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds…” Hebrews 10:23

Grow – Through care and encouragement we hope women will be driven to learn more about God and what is taught in his Word as we all strive to be more Christ-like. We look for opportunities to initiate discussions on important topics that impact our faith and daily lives.

  • Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:1-2
